What to Expect
Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience, but we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Spokane Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family.
We want you to experience uplifting music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home"!
Our fellowship starts with Bible Study at 9:15am. There is a social break for coffee and light snacks, and then the main service begins at 10:30am.
The focus of our service is solid Bible preaching - we’re done by noon, and then everyone is invited to stay for a wonderfully prepared lunch and warm Christian fellowship.
On Wednesday evenings, our service starts at 7:00pm.
We sing a couple hymns, have a sharing time focused specifically on outreach, and then are challenged by a Bible-based sermon. We then take time for specific prayer for any needs, and close with fellowship time.
Once a month, we have communion, and on those days, we fast and pray at 5:30pm prior to services.
Where do I take my children?
Spokane Baptist offers faithful ministry to children of all ages at every service.
On Sundays, there is a front desk of ministry helpers that will be happy to assist you with determining where your children should go.
On Wednesday nights, currently all children start in the main service, and after the beginning of service, they are released to go to their respective classes based on age groups. The Children's Ministry workers can assist with navigating children as they are released from the sanctuary. Anyone would be happy to address any questions you might have, or direct you to the best person to answer them.
Please visit our Ministry page for additional information on Children's Ministry.
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Spokane Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Spokane Baptist!
What kind of music do you use?
At Spokane Baptist Church, we sing hymns with solid content and written by Godly people. While many people enjoy more “modern” types of music, our main goal for our music is that it should enhance the proclamation of the Word of God and be pleasing to Jesus Christ.
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
You might be surprised to find that at Spokane Baptist, we don’t actually pass an offering plate around like most churches. We want our service to be a gift to you!
We do have a small offering box located by the entrance to our sanctuary, but please don't feel any obligation to give.
We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace… free of charge!
If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Spokane Baptist will be refreshing!
We’re eager to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step through our doors. Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
